“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord. Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” [Ephesians 5:18-20]
The mud wasn’t much better than the day before, in spite of the sun and warm temperatures. Indeed, it might actually have become worse. Still, it wasn’t wet anymore but the mud was thick and sticky — determined to suck your shoes off, no matter how hard you fought to keep them on. Was it worth it? Yes, yes, YES!!!!!
Jesus was praised throughout. I am pretty sure His name sang through the treetops. People were smiling and HAPPY. It’s so rare to be in one spot with thousands of happy people … all high on Jesus.
The music was incredible once again with City Harmonic, Kutless and countless others lining the stage singing praises to the King. They weren’t the big ‘show’ but in every beat of the drums and every strum of a guitar, they led up to the best praise and worship moment I’ve ever experienced.
The moment the Newsboys came on stage, the crowd was warmed up and ready. The presence of Jesus could be felt by everyone. These guys weren’t here for the screaming fans or the glory. They were here for JESUS. The crowd was ready to sing praises. They were ready to sing to Him. The moment Michael Tate, took the stage and started singing I waited for that one song.
We believe in God the Father
We believe in Jesus Christ
We believe in His holy Spirit
And He’s given us new life,
We believe in the crucifixion
We believe that He conquered death
We believe in the resurrection
And He’s coming back again….
The first time I heard it, it spoke to my soul. When I heard it last night with thousands of people singing along, my heart exploded. Jesus died on a cross for me. I’ve always known this to be true but last night I felt it in my spirit.
The whole day was another incredible testament to the love of Jesus, and being able to praise Him — out loud in the middle of a racetrack — with crowds of people experiencing this same Jesus — was amazing.
The best part of the day though, with all that music, the God’s Not Dead movie and two shooting stars, was watching my 13 year old son, sing and lift his hands in praise to Jesus. That moment was beyond priceless … that moment was beyond INCREDIBLE.
