Born to Dance
“Praise ye the Lord! Sing unto the Lord a new song, and His praise in the congregation of saints. Let Israel rejoice in Him that made Him. Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. Let them praise His name in the dance. Let them sing praises unto Him with the timbrel and harp. For the Lord takes pleasure in His people … [and] He will beautify the meek with salvation.” (Psalm 149:1-4)
When I dance I feel passion, maturity and strength.
To dance is who I have become. I feel strength through my feet, my toes, my ankles and legs.
When I am on the stage — with bright lights gleaming in my eyes, my heart pounding, my legs shaking, I stop and forget everything!
But when the music turns on, its just my left foot, then right foot, left arm and right arm and I feel the beat. In fact, I get into it. It’s what I love. I feel good about it, and I know in my heart that I am a great dancer!
Dancing is where I feel confident about who I am. Dancing washes away my daily troubles.
I was created to dance — to praise Jesus in the motion of movement. I thank Him for my gift and I dance my praises towards Him.
Throughout, He knows that my questions, concerns, hesitations are given to Him when I dance. I was born to dance … made to move!
Thank you Jesus.
