Kingdom Thinking

  Kingdom Thinking

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. And what [is] the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.” (Ephesians 1:17)
I enjoy reading. I like reading books that are action packed and full of suspense. What I don’t like reading are books that take away from the good news gospel message of Jesus Christ. Recently, I was asked to read a book that promotes witch craft. It is a book that shows an alternative evil kingdom that is not of the Lord. It is not a book that will make our world a better place and its message does not offer people hope. These two reasons alone explain why it is not good for a Christian to subscribe to a book that promotes evil thoughts and actions. For me, I realize that this book will not offer the joy and peace that I can count on from my Lord and Saviour.  This book will not satisfy my inner desires like Jesus. But what about my friends? I have learned that I can say no to books that don’t profit my soul but my friends might feel they have to do what they are told. For now, I can encourage them to become a Christian like me so that they too can live a blessed life. I can also share with them that knowing His wisdom and knowledge is the best type of learning one can get.
