I read a blog this morning that was written by a christian minister’s wife about the mayhem over Target’s decision to allow men and women to use the washroom of the gender they identify with. It was a good blog. In fact I might just say that it was a GREAT blog! She calmly explained the Christian view from a Biblical perspective and it spoke truth.
It explained that Jesus told us to love. Our job as Christians is to love everyone… male, female, gay, straight, black, white, rich, poor, transgender…. there are so many labels we can put on ourselves or put on others but when all is said and done, the only thing that matters is that they are people. They are people Jesus chose to die for. He CHOSE TO DIE FOR THEM!
This blog has since been removed and her account has been suspended which blows me away. She wasn’t discriminating, she didn’t say a single bad thing about Target, the boycotters, or the transgender community but her site has been shut down. How is it that her site could be shut down for speaking honest, loving truth but thousands of people have written lies about what the Bible says, horrible things about transgender people and so much more that was negative and destructive but their sites are all up and running.
Ephesians 6: 10-20 says,
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
Pray that I may DECLARE IT FEARLESSLY! This is not the time for Christians to lose their voice. It is the time for us to stand out among the millions of unbelievers so that we may light up the darkness! We need to remember that we can maintain our voice while loving the ones that Jesus died for!
